steph the survival mystic

born into a lineage of clergy and mystics, I was still adrift in adulthood, never satisfied although I enjoyed stints in education and local governmental work, administrative, HR and accounting in both industries, and then after becoming a parent I moved to part time in wellness/food because whole foods and holistic approaches to living have always been part of my life as a committed vegetarian and spiritually minded seeker.

my 8th house stellium of Sun, Ketu, Mars and Mercury all in the 8th bhava demanded familiarity with constant upheaval and predisposed me to a love of the unseen early, as I began writing essays on the formal study of the paranormal as far back as the 1980s (seeking my career path), and doing astrological experiments on friends in my teens.

at 20, I had my first vedic astrology reading with one of the few prominents in the US in the early 1990s, James Braha; this would be the first of several times James would call me an astrologer, a healer, a psychic, and plead that I “follow the dharma.” still, and though most of the events he predicted came to pass, as and when he said over the years, it took three more decades for me to heed the call that echoed from the moment I embodied, due to karma, free will and celestial influences, yet it’s occurred in exactly the timing in which it was meant. each seemingly aimless choice shaping my eventual wisdom, gratitude, and relentless courage to express my belief in my own capabilities.

and so I answered the call to practice vedic astrology and spiritual inquiry. the moment i committed, just as the promises we’ve all heard of the universe paving the path- the floodgates opened an Awakening complete with a sense of being guided at each step, with spectacular synchronicities becoming an integral yet routine part of daily life. this is where the story begins.

the survivor story begins much earlier, not long before birth when we were hit by a city bus in Indianapolis…
